Here is my 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Type-UK with PPP (Prodrive Performance Pack). I’ve owned this car for 12 years and it has been an absolute joy. I haven’t driven it much in the past few years and it deserves to be out on the road, not hidden away in my garage.

There are 115,600 miles on the clock (will increase slightly) with a fully stamped service book. I’ve only ever had service and maintenance work done at two renowned Subaru specialists in my ownership, as I’ll show in the service history below. Both original keys, all original literature and owners books are provided.

All factory STi features are present including: 6-Speed Manual, Gold Brembo Brakes, Rear Wing, Fog Covers, Sideskirts/Bumpers, Intercooler Water Spray, VF35 Turbocharger, RPM Light & Buzzer, Aluminium Pedals & shifter surround, Gold 17” STi Alloys. It also has the Prodrive Performance Pack fitted from new (with certificate) with ECU Remap, High-Flow Fuel Pump, Sports Cat, Backbox, Red Silicone Intercooler Hose and (rare) Prodrive suspension springs.

I’ve owned it for 12 years since 2013 and it has 5 previous owners, 2 of which were in the same family. In 2014 I made a request with the DVLA to provide all previous ownership history (the DVLA no longer offers this service). So I have full ownership provenance records.

Full stamped service history as follows:

  • 02/12/2003 – 998 miles – Subaru Chelmsford
  • 10/02/2005 – 9162 miles – Subaru Chelmsford
  • 10/01/2006 – 14480 miles – Subaru Chelmsford
  • 10/11/2006 – 21804 miles – Subaru Chelmsford
  • 29/10/2007 – 31685 miles – Subaru Chelmsford
  • 03/11/2008 – 39323 miles – Independent
  • 03/11/2009 – 41805 miles – Subaru Chelmsford
  • 12/08/2010 – 46357 miles – Subaru Specialist
  • 26/01/2012 – 52434 miles – Independent
  • 04/01/2013 – 56619 miles – Independent
  • 28/05/2014 – 60526 miles – Zen Performance
  • 17/11/2015 – 67514 miles – Zen Performance
  • 08/08/2017 – 78814 miles – RM Performance
  • 10/07/2018 – 85496 miles – RM Performance
  • 21/08/2019 – 93899 miles – RM Performance
  • 22/11/2021 – 104721 miles – RM Performance
  • 29/09/2022 – 111017 miles – RM Performance
  • 14/02/2024 – 115041 miles – RM Performance
  • It has barely covered 500 miles since this last service, hence no service this year

Here’s a selection of big items I have invoiced under my ownership:

  • 2015 – Sump replaced
  • 2017 – Engine Rebuild, RTS Clutch, Flywheel skim, Water Pump, Radiator
  • 2018 – Front & Rear Discs & Pads
  • 2019 – F/R ARB Polybushes
  • 2020 – KYB Ultra Rear shocks, Rear topmounts, PFR7B Plugs, Fuel Filter
  • 2021 – Replacement Prodrive front springs, Front Discs & Pads, Trans & diff oil flush, Rear drop links, Timing belt, tensioners, wheel bearing, crankshaft seal
  • 2024 – Coolant flush

You’ll notice the engine rebuild in 2017 as a result of a head gasket failure at 78k miles. This was rectified by RM Performance in Banbury with a thorough rebuild with RCM gaskets (at a £2k cost) and the car has performed flawlessly for the past 8 years and ~40k miles since. RM Performance have looked after the car for me every year since. One highlight they often mention is just how little oil is consumed – it has never required a top-up between services, which is incredibly impressive for these engines.

In the past 3 months I have added the following:

  • Brand new Bosch battery
  • Brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres on all 4 wheels (replaced after last MOT advisory so only ~500 miles old)
  • Brand new blue Scoobyworld mudflaps
  • Brand new Genuine Subaru boot lid seal
  • Brand new cabin filter
  • Various Genuine Subaru bolts and fixings

The car has a few subtle modifications:

  • Remap and switchable antilag by Subaru specialists TDR in Warwick in 2019. Running a very safe 327HP & 276 lbft with dyno print-out
  • Genuine Subaru wind deflectors
  • Front and rear seats from a V7 (Bugeye) STi. These provide firmer bolsters and a lower seating position and are a vast improvement in engagement and comfort over the standard Blobeye STi seats
  • Sony Bluetooth head unit with Morel tweeters, Rainbow amplifier and subwoofer
  • Goodridge braided brake lines with Godspeed discs and kevlar pads
  • Tegiwa brake stopper
  • Front strut brace
  • K&N Panel Filter
  • Bonnet dampers
  • Red Silicone Airbox/Radiator hoses
  • GFB Respons adjustable blow off valve
  • Scorpion de-resonated center pipe
  • STi floor mats

Due to its age, unfortunately there are some negative points:

  • The offside rear arch outer has recently started to rust. This is a very common issue unfortunately, but appears to only be cosmetic. Inside arch seems solid.
  • The air conditioning has just been re-gassed (July 2025). A full Nitrogen test was carried out and it is holding gas, however the technician noted the compressor may be starting to go.
  • There are a few tiny marks over the bodywork – small dings and stone chips accumulated over the years, but nothing out of the ordinary and certainly nothing major. Unfortunately another very common problem as Subaru applied such thin paint to these cars.
  • Similarly in the interior, some plastic panels have some lights scuffs and scratches.
  • The boot lid has some early signs of paint blistering around the spoiler joint and some paint lifting.
  • In 2024 the car failed an MOT due to rust on the offside rear sill. When this failure happened I took the car off the road into dry storage for 14 months. The sill was then professionally cut out and replaced in May 2025 (invoiced) and it sailed through a fresh MOT.

I’ve included a couple of pictures below where you can see the Prodrive PFF7 18” Forged Wheels. Manufactured by Speedline for Prodrive, they are incredibly rare to find nowadays in the correct colour, offset and PCD for this model year. They also have the original Prodrive centre caps. These are not currently fitted to the car and are available by separate negotiation.

The car will be sold with a box of spares including the original head unit and CD changer, a spare Prodrive spring, various hoses, original recirc valve and other misc parts. As stated above I can also provide at separate negotiation the Prodrive PFF7 wheels, the W8LOB private reg (will otherwise revert to its ‘53’ plate), plus some Perrin Wing Stabilisers and a Classic Additions outdoor car cover. Please enquire for prices or I’m happy to work out a deal with you.

Please message me on Instagram if you’re genuinely interested. I’m happy to take individuals out for a test, but I will be driving.
