Just a small thing I like to do when exploring a new car is to check the oft-forgotten cabin filter. This is the last line of defense between you and the outside world when it comes to having a pleasant interior. Used for blocking any unwanted substances like leaves, dust and pollen from entering the interior of your car through the ventilation system, your cabin filter should ideally be checked and cleaned/replaced every year or so. Like most cars, the cabin filter in the Newage Subaru Impreza is behind the glovebox. A bit of tinkering later, and the glovebox...Read More

At the closest opportunity, which naturally meant on a dry weekend, I did what any new-car-owner should do and gave the Impreza a thorough clean! In credit to the previous owner it was already in a rather tidy condition, but there’s no better way of getting to know the inside and out of your new car than getting up close with the polish. Lots of pictures in this one: It scrubs up rather well, I think you’ll agree! Apart from a few stone chips and the usual paintwork swirls, it’s looking very good. On closer inspection during the cleaning...Read More
In case you ever need to know the ideal Impreza tyre pressures (and correct tyre sizes) as recommended by Subaru themselves, check this out: This is the sticker inside my 2003 Subaru Impreza STi with 17″ wheels, so it should apply to all Newage STi Impreza models. The pressures are shown in kilo-pascals (kPa) and kilogram-force per square centimeter (kgf/cm2), but you can convert these to your preferred units with a simple Google search. Personally, I’m a psi kind of guy (as is mostly...Read More
This is where the journey begins. In 2013 I turned 22 years old, an age at which I found insurance prices declining rapidly on my then cars, a Toyota MR2 and Audi A4 Quattro. I’d always wanted to combine the practicality of the Audi and the fun of the MR2 – and what better car to choose than a 4WD, Turbocharged Subaru Impreza now that insurance costs made owning one feasible? It helps an Impreza has been on my ‘dream car’ list since I was a very young too. There was no way I could justify owning a fleet...Read More
In a quest to create a written resource to thoroughly document every modification I’ve made to my Subaru Impreza, I created Impreza.co. In August 2013 I bought my (realistic) dream car, a 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Type-UK. From then on I’ve compiled a huge selection of photographs of modifications, trips and various other stories worth sharing. I’m aiming to create a new post every month or so with a selection of photographs and captions detailing exactly what I’ve been up to for the past year, and into the future. Comments have been enabled on every post I write,...Read More
